Nizamabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy on Wednesday slammed the opposition parties for misguiding people on various issues.
Addressing beneficiaries of 2BHK houses after handing over the documents of the houses at Velpur in the district, he cautioned the people to be aware of those who create confusion among them. “It is always advisable for the people to ignore those who try to spoil the good work,” he said.
If the Congress government in undivided Andhra Pradesh gave houses to the poor, then this situation would not have occurred today. During the Congress tenure, the sanctioned houses were only shown on papers and the contractors and leaders used to take money sanctioned for the construction of houses for the poor, he said.
“We will shortly launch a scheme to enable people to construct their houses if they have their own land,” the Minister said, asking why the BJP and Congress-ruled States were not implementing the welfare schemes implemented in Telangana.
The Minister handed over 112 double bedroom houses constructed in the colony named as KCR Colony to the beneficiaries. These houses were constructed at a cost of over Rs.7 crore. The beneficiaries thanked the Minister for helping them in realising their dream of owning a house.
The Minister said the houses were allocated to the beneficiaries without giving any scope for politics and bias.
