Hyderabad: Vidarbha scored an 89-run win against Hyderabad in the Vijay Hazare Trophy one-day cricket championship preliminary round match at Rajkot on Friday.
Batting first, Vidarbha made 365 for five in 50 overs thanks to a fine century by Dhruv Shorey (109 n.o., 77b, 9×4, 6×6). The other useful contributors were Aman Mokhade (82), Yash Rathod (68) and R Samarth (63).
Medium-pacer Kartikeya Kak, though expensive, was the leading wicket-taker with three for 87.
In reply, Hyderabad was bowled out for 276 in 49.2 overs with Abhirath Reddy (43), G Rahul Singh (37) and A Varun Goud (85) batting well. For Vidarbha, Harsh Dubey (three for 49) was the main wicket-taker.
