Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh police arrested one person Pallala Venkatesh (24) of Nellore on charges of sexually assaulting a young woman and beating her up.

A video of the man beating the woman and sexually assaulting her had gone viral on social media, following which he was arrested by the police at Tegacherla village of Rapur mandal on Wednesday.

The police said the incident took place two months ago at Kothur forest and surfaced on social media on Wednesday. The incident was filmed by Komarika Manohar (19) and Kotari Siva (18) at the behest of Venkatesh.

The police said that Venkatesh suspected that the woman was having an affair with another person and hence resorted to the act. The victim was traced and a complaint was taken from her.
