Video of cop being thrashed is not from Telangana, say Cyberabad Police
The minute long video of a cop being thrashed by a group of youngsters on the road, even as the former was trying to escape, has gone viral on social media
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police on Saturday clarified that a video of some persons thrashing a police official, which is doing rounds on various social media platforms saying it happened in Kondapur, was not from Telangana at all. Police have also warned those resorting to spreading fake news.
“A video of some persons beating supposedly police personnel at some unknown location is being widely circulated on social media as that of the Kondapur area of Cyberabad. It is clarified that no such incident has taken place anywhere in Cyberabad and this news is fake,” the Cyberabad police said on their official Twitter handle, adding that legal action would be initiated against persons who share such false information with ulterior motives.
