Hyderabad: A song promoting awareness on plasma donation was released by MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar, MLC Naveen Rao, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad VC Sajjanar, here on Wednesday.
The song was released in presence of DCP Shamshabad Prakash Reddy, Madhapur DCP Venkateshwarlu, SCSC General Secretary Krishna Yedula, VV Vinayak, film director, C. Kalyan, film producer, Sreerama Chandra and Others.
The video song underscores awareness on how plasma can help save lives and bring cheer amidst the dark pandemic times.
The song was dedicated to the Legendary SP Balasubramanyam.
Santosh Kumar appreciated the team members of the video Song ‘The Plasma Donation’.
He said according to the doctors, one person can donate plasma 24 times a year and save 48 lives.
He urged people who have recovered from COVID-19 to convince their family members to come forward and donate plasma and inspire others.
Appreciating the efforts of Cyberabad police Santosh said, “Iam overwhelmed to see Cyberabad police going out of their way to help people out. One should always remember that service to people is real service. I want to thank each one you present here for carrying out such a programme, to spread awareness amidst tough times of pandemic “.
Sajjanar, said to increase the green cover and have saplings planted across the State ‘Green India Challenge’ has been a great initiative.
He thanked Santosh Kumar for such a great initiative to increase green cover.
“Planting trees should be a continuous process and the practice of presenting a sapling instead of a gift is a good one,” the Commissioner added.
Officials said initially there was a misconception among people about plasma donation. A total of 2,700 people till date donated plasma and saved 4,500 lives in critical and emergency condition in Cyberabad.
Dr. Laxmi, a 100-year-old woman who recovered from COVID-19 expressed her gratitude and thanked Cyberabad Police for donating plasma on time.
