Video: Osmania University students protest over hostel food quality
Law students at Osmania University staged a protest on Tuesday, squatting on the main road with rice bowls to highlight alleged stale food served in the hostel mess. The protesters raised slogans against the vice-chancellor and chief warden, demanding immediate resolution of the long-pending issue.
Hyderabad: A protest erupted on the Osmania University campus on Tuesday over alleged stale food that was served at dinner. With a large rice bowl, law students squatted on the main road near the University College of Law.
Raising slogans against the university vice chancellor as well as chief warden, the protesters demanded immediate answers to their long-pending issue in the hostel mess. Protesters alleged that despite raising the issue of substandard food being served in the mess with the authorities concerned, the problem persists.
Sensing that the situation might go out of hand, police personnel swung into action and engaged with the protesters. Last month, Godavari Hostel’s inmates staged a protest alleging that substandard food was being served at the mess.
