Hyderabad: Actor and producer Vijay Antony has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Telugu moviegoers for turning his latest film, Maargan, into a notable success in the Telugu states. Directed by Leo John Paul, Maargan has struck a chord with the audience ever since its release on June 27.
The thriller also marks the acting debut of Vijay Antony’s nephew, Ajay Dhishan. Produced under the Vijay Antony Film Corporation banner and presented by J Ramanjaneyaulu of Sarvanth Ram Creations, the Telugu version was released by noted producer Suresh Babu.
Speaking at a Thank You Meet held on Wednesday, July 02, Vijay Antony said he felt overwhelmed by the warm response. “Suresh Babu garu and Ram Anjaneyulu garu gave Maargan a grand Telugu release. Suresh Babu garu has even promised to release all my future films in Telugu. I’m so happy to have launched Ajay through this film. He has won praise in both Tamil and Telugu,” he said.
Antony also revealed that he is planning to produce straight Telugu films along with Ajay. He is currently working on seven films in Tamil and promised to ensure their Telugu versions are well-dubbed. “My next film, Bhadrakali, a political action thriller, will be out soon,” he added.
Ajay Dhishan, who played the lead role, shared his excitement too. “I didn’t expect Maargan to become such a big hit in Telugu. Though it’s a Tamil film, the Telugu audience has supported us so well. I thank Vijay Antony sir and Fatima Vijay Antony madam for this opportunity. Special thanks to Leo John Paul sir, Suresh Babu sir, Rana sir, and Ram Anjaneyulu garu for giving our film a wide release,” Ajay said.
Director Leo John Paul praised the team’s efforts, saying, “Without Vijay Antony sir’s support, this film wouldn’t have shaped up so well. He ensured the film’s technical standards were high and paid attention even to the dubbing. Ajay did a brilliant job too.”
Lyricist and dialogue writer Bhashyasree added that the thriller kept audiences glued till the end. “I thank Vijay Antony sir for trusting me with the dialogues and songs,” he said.
With strong word-of-mouth and continued audience support, Maargan is proving that content-rich thrillers can find love across languages.
