Following media reports and speculations that his upcoming movie ‘Liger’ received a Rs 200 crore deal for a direct OTT release, actor Vijay Deverakonda took to Twitter to rubbish the news.
Vijay wrote, “Too little. I will do more in the theatres.”
Vijay’s tweet made it clear that the actor has set his eye on the box office. The ‘Arjun Reddy’ actor is playing the role of a boxer in the film.
Actor-turned-producer Charmme Kaur is bankrolling the project along with Puri Jagannath. Karan Johar is presenting the movie in Bollywood and Ananya Pandey is playing the female lead.
The makers have already announced the release date as September 9 this year, however, audiences have to wait for an update if any changes are made on the date.
Sixty percent of the shoot has been completed and the film unit is ready to kickstart the Hyderabad schedule in the coming month.
The much-anticipated first look poster of ‘Liger’ has clocked more than 2 million likes on Instagram, only south-Indian film to have clocked a staggering number.
