Hyderabad: CV Milind produced a sensational bowling performance, with figures of 5/13, to lead Hyderabad to a four-wicket win over Puducherry in the Round 4 clash of the Vijay Hazare Trophy at Ahmedabad on Saturday. He was well supported by Tanay Thyagarajan, who chipped in with 3/24, as the duo wreaked havoc on Puducherry’s batting lineup.

Puducherry never got going, with their batters struggling to settle against Hyderabad’s disciplined bowling attack. They were bowled out for a mere 98 in 31.5 overs, setting Hyderabad a modest target.

Despite the low score, Puducherry’s bowlers fought back strongly. Gaurav Yadav and Vijai Raja rattled Hyderabad’s top order, reducing them to 19/3 in just three overs. Key batters Tanmay Agarwal (0), P Nitesh Reddy (5), and skipper Tilak Varma (6) fell cheaply, leaving Hyderabad in trouble.

However, Kodimela Himateja anchored the innings with a composed, unbeaten 42-run knock. His steady performance ensured Hyderabad reached the target in 20 overs with four wickets in hand.

Brief Scores: Vijay Hazare Trophy: Puducherry 98 in 31.5 overs (CV Milind 5/13, Tanay Thyagarajan 3/24) lost to Hyderabad 102/6 in 20 overs (Himateja 42 no, Gourav Yadav 2/46, Fabid Ahmed 2/21).
