Hyderabad: Hyderabad suffered their third straight loss going down to Jharkhand by 36 runs to crash out of the Vijay Hazare tournament, in the Elite Group C match in Chandigarh on Tuesday.
CV Milind picked up 6 for 63 but Jharkhand rode on Virat Singh’s 65 to post a decent 276 on the board in 50 overs. Tanmay Agarwal scored a 72-ball 59 (7×4) but Hyderabad were skittled out for 240 runs in 48.4 overs.
Tanmay invited the opposition to bat first but Jharkhand had a 58-run partnership before Milind dismissed Md Nazim. Jharkhand lost two quick wickets but Sauragh Tiwary (42) and Virat Singh (65) added 93 runs for the fourth wicket before Kumar Deobrat (43) powered the team to good total.
Chasing the target, Hyderabad lost Abhirath Reddy, Tilak Varma and Himalay Agarwal inside 20 overs. Hyderabad kept losing wickets at regular intervals that derailed their chase.
With this loss, Hyderabad ended the group stage at the fourth place with eight points from two victories.
