Vijayawada Blasters crowned champions of ACA Andhra Premier League T20 Women’s Cricket
Vijayawada Blasters defeated Rayalaseema Ranis by 13 runs to win the ACA Andhra Premier League T20 Women’s Championship. Captain S. Meghana starred with 49 runs and was named Player of the Series, claiming the Orange Cap and Super Striker award.
HYDERABAD: Vijayawada Blasters scored a 13-run win against Rayalaseema Ranis in the final of the ACA Andhra Premier League T-20 women’s cricket championship in Visakhapatnam.
Batting first, Blasters scored 165 for six in 20 overs with captain S. Meghana (39) being the top-scorer and there were handy contributions from Mahanthi Sri (37) and Ranga Laxmi (33).
In reply, Ranis were restricted to 152 for six in 20 overs with M. Anjum (53) being the top-scorer.
Former India captain Mithali Raj gave away the prizes. The winners won Rs 6 lakhs.
The scores: Final: Vijayawada Blasters 165/6 in 20 overs (Captain S. Meghana 49, Mahanthi Sri 37, Ranga Laxmi 33) bt Rayalasama Ranis 152/6 in 20 overs (M. Anjum 53).
