Hyderabad: The Shankarpally police on Saturday arrested a biker on charges of drunk driving resulting in the death of a woman pillion rider on another bike in September last year. He was booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
The arrested person was K Anil Kumar (21), a construction worker from Nawabpet in Vikarabad district. Anil Kumar, who was driving his bike in an inebriated condition, hit a motorcycle from behind at Ramanthapur village on the Shankaprally- Chevella road. The pillion rider of the bike P Laxmi (30), from Chevella died on the spot and her husband was injured.
He was found to be driving in a rash manner under influence of alcohol and when tested, his Blood Alcohol Content reading was 71 mg/100 ml of blood, which is beyond the permissible limit.
The Shankarpally police booked a case under the MV Act and arrested Anil Kumar, who was produced before a court.
