Hyderabad: A man is battling for life after his daughter and son-in-law set him ablaze at Vikarabad on Thursday when he allegedly refused to transfer his land on the daughter’s name.
According to the police, the victim Kumuri Krishna (52) lived at Yalal mandal in Vikarabad district. A few years ago, he had married his daughter Anita to Arjun Pawar, a resident of Gulbarga district in Karnataka. After the marriage, Anita and her husband Arjun are staying at Gulbarga.
For a few weeks Anita is visiting her house at Yalal mandal and asking her father Krishna to transfer two acres of family land on her name. However, Krishna did not agree for it as he is farming on the land and earning his livelihood.
“On Thursday an argument ensued between Krishna and his daughter over the issue. In a fit of rage, Anita and Arjun doused Krishna with fuel and set him ablaze. He suffered severe burns and was rushed to Hyderabad hospital for treatment,” said Yalal police station sub inspector, Vittal Reddy.
A case has been registered against Anita and Arjun at Yalal police station. The police are investigating.
