Vikramjit Singh of South Central Railway won the 83rd Maestro Category A Classical Chess Tournament, while Hiten Goel triumphed in Category B with a perfect score. The event saw fierce competition with the final placements across both categories

Hyderabad: Vikramjit Singh of South Central Railway emerged as the winner of the 83rd Maestro Category A Classical Chess Tournament.

After six rounds, three players tied with five points each. By virtue of the tie-break score, Vikramjit stood first, while Nidhish Shyamal and Sri Charan Sandipagu secured the second and third places, respectively.


In Category B, exclusively for players rated below 1600 ELO, Hiten Goel won with a perfect score of seven points from seven rounds. P. Ravindra (6 points) finished second.

Final placings: Category A : 1. S Vikramjit Singh 2. Nidhish Shyama 3. Sri Charan Sandipagu, 4. B. Sri Sai Baswanth, 5. Kirthika B 6. Karthik Sai Ch 7. K.Naga Sai Sarhak, 8. U. Rithwik Reddy, 9. M. Advik Reddy, 10. A. Divith Reddy.

Category B: 1.Hiten Goel, 2. P. Ravindra, 3. Y. Murali Mohan, 4. K.S. Visisht Sriram, 5.V. Aarush Reddy, 6. Suhas Maddi, 7. Siddharth Chodisetti, 8. Sai Susheela Reddycherla, 9. J. Sri Prathik and 10. Advik Ranga.
