Hyderabad: Vikramjit Singh of South Central Railway emerged as the winner of the 83rd Maestro Category A Classical Chess Tournament.
After six rounds, three players tied with five points each. By virtue of the tie-break score, Vikramjit stood first, while Nidhish Shyamal and Sri Charan Sandipagu secured the second and third places, respectively.
In Category B, exclusively for players rated below 1600 ELO, Hiten Goel won with a perfect score of seven points from seven rounds. P. Ravindra (6 points) finished second.
