Mancherial: A tiger was reportedly sighted while crossing a road on the edges of Gonduguda village near Kasipet mandal centre on Tuesday, sparking panic among locals.
Locals and coal miners working with an opencast mining project claimed that they saw a tiger when it was crossing a road on the peripherals of the village in the morning. They said motorists waited for a while till the tiger vanished into the forests.
However, forest officials clarified that no tiger was moving in the forests of Gonduguda. They refuted the claim of the villagers and coal miners. They stated that no piece of evidence was found at the spot, with no pugmarks were recorded there. They requested the public not to trust rumors being circulated on social media platforms.
In January, a tiger moved on the outskirts of Dubbagudem, Chintagudem, Gatravapalli, Arettapalli and Peddanapalli villages located around Kasipet mandal headquarters, triggering panic. However, it drifted towards forests of neighbouring Kumram Bheem Asifabad district.
