Jangaon: In a novel protest demanding that the government complete the bridge works between two villages, angry residents fixed the photo of Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to a donkey and took out a rally with it on Monday.
A bridge between Chitakoduru and Ganugupahad collapsed two years ago. Since then, the residents have been appealing to the officials and elected public representatives to get the bridge reconstructed.
Irked over the delay, the residents staged a protest and took out a rally from Ambedkar centre to the Collectorate in Jangaon. However, the traffic police deployed at the centre immediately removed the Minister’s photo. The protestors were prevented from heading towards the Collectorate. The police took a few persons into custody, according to reports.
