Villagers thrash man for attempting to rape girl in Mahabubabad
It is alleged that he tried to whisk away the girl who was sleeping with her parents in front of their house in an attempt to rape her. However, the parents and neighbours caught hold of him and tied him to a pole.
Mahabubabad: A man was tied to a poll and given a thrashing by villagers at Bodrai Thanda Gram Panchayat of Dornakal mandal in the district after he allegedly tried to rape a minor girl in the village in the early hours of Wednesday.
It is alleged that he tried to whisk away the girl who was sleeping with her parents in front of their house in an attempt to rape her. However, the parents and neighbours caught hold of him and tied him to a pole. The villagers gathered there and beat him up severely for his wicked attempt.
On learning about the incident, police rushed to the spot and took Tejavath Komal (51) into custody. They registered a case against Komal under POCSO and several sections of the Indian Penal Code following a complaint lodged by the victim’s parents.
Meanwhile, CI Islavath Srinivas said they also registered a case against some people for beating the accused and taking the law into their hands.
