Suryapet: Villages in erstwhile Nalgonda district are now wearing a new look with Palle Pakruthi Vanams, Vaikuntadhamams and Rythu Vedikas coming up under the Palle Pragathi and other schemes.
About 837 villages in Nalgonda district, 475 villages in Suryapet district and 421 villages in Yaddari-Bhongir district have got major a face lift with the implementation of developmental schemes under Palle and Pattana Pragathi programmes. Development of dump yards have changed sanitation and cleanliness in villages.
Palle Pakruthi Vanams in villages are now providing the much-needed lung space for the people. The Rythu Vedikas too are serving as a common platform for farmers to meet and discuss matters related to cultivation. Door to door waste collection has now begun even in villages with tractors provided to gram panchyats by the State government.
Energy Minister G Jagdish Reddy has been conducting review meetings with officials of erstwhile Nalgonda district from time to time which has helped in placing development works on the fast-track. Besides completion and inauguration of Rythu Vedikas, Vaikuntadhamams and Palle Pakruthi Vanams in villages as part of the ongoing fourth phase of Palle Pragathi programme, officials are also focusing on completion of remaining works of development programmes in several villages.
Chivvemla in Suryapet district has emerged as a role model in the erstwhile Nalgonda district following the completion of Palle Pakruthi Vanam, Vaikuntadhamam, Rythu Vedika and dump yards.
