Hyderabad: Telangana State Planning Commission Vice Chairman B Vinod Kumar dared BJP MPs from the State to exert pressure on Central Government to sanction over Rs 5,000 crore for construction of three multi speciality hospitals in the city and prove their commitment towards Telangana.
The State Government is working on constructing multi speciality hospitals at Alwal, Erragadda and Kothapet to offer free treatment and quality medical services to the poor at the hospitals.
Ridiculing BJP State president Bandi Sanjay’s comments that the party would focus on health and education after coming into power, he said the Central Government had sanctioned 150 medical colleges across the country but not a single medical college was approved to Telangana.
Before formation of State, there were five medical colleges in Telangana but the TRS Government has set up nine medical colleges, besides increasing PG medical seats drastically, he said adding “Plans are being made to set up one medical college in each district.”
Addressing media persons here on Sunday, the Planning Commission Vice Chairman said there was no response to Bandi Sanjay’s padayatra. “Lush green fields are welcoming him during the padayatra and he is at loss of words and is speaking rubbish,” said Vinod Kumar.
Telangana is the only State, which is offering 24 hours quality and free power supply in the country. So much so, farmers were now appealing to cut the excess supply, he informed.
Slamming the BJP MPs from the State, he said charged that they had failed to get a single rupee from the Centre for Telangana. Much is being spoken about the National Highways allocation for Telangana but it is the State’s right under the AP Reorganisation Act, he explained.
He further said the BJP had lost deposit in the Nagarjuna Sagar by-poll and had won the Dubbak by-poll as voters got confused in recognising the TRS party symbol.
