Hyderabad: There was much talk about who will partner Mayank Agarwal in the opening Pink-ball Test against Australia. The Test which is underway in Adelaide, saw Prithvi Shaw opening the innings after India opted to bat.
However, the playing XI was announced a day before the start and kicked up the debate on his selection. Youngster Shubhman Gill showed good technique in the warm-up games leading up to the Test series. However, he was asked to warm the bench. But much to the disappointment of many, Shaw was cleaned up by Mitchell Starc on the innings’ second ball, putting his selection in jeopardy for the upcoming Tests.
Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli, who also hails from Mumbai like Shaw, was disappointed with his poor technique. He took to Twitter to show his disappointment. “As much as I’ve seen of Prithvi Shaw, it’s either 0 or 100 for him…Hope he comes off better in the next innings” Kambli tweeted.
