Hyderabad: Former MP B Vinod Kumar on Friday criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for ignoring two crucial railway projects during his recent review of infrastructure works. He said that among the projects proposed to the Centre, the Chief Minister included the greenfield Hyderabad–Amaravati road project, which was already assured under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, but overlooked vital railway links essential for North Telangana.

Addressing a press meet at Telangana Bhavan, Vinod Kumar pointed out that travel to Adilabad still required a detour through Maharashtra despite a railway line dating back to the Nizam era. “We had completed the survey and DPR for the Adilabad–Nirmal–Armoor line when I was MP. The project remains pending,” he said.

He also demanded focus on the Karimnagar–Huzurabad–Kazipet line, stressing that new links here could ensure connectivity to nearly ten districts of North Telangana. He urged both Congress and BJP MPs from Telangana to treat the issue as a regional priority and ensure the projects are expedited. He said that he had written letters to the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary, and the South Central Railway general manager, seeking immediate attention in this regard.
