Hyderabad: Former BRS MP B Vinod Kumar urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to name the proposed Mamunur airport after Kakatiya queen Rani Rudrama Devi.
In an open letter to the Chief Minister on Sunday, Vinod Kumar said BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had worked tirelessly for the airport. He said BRS leaders, including Chandrasekhar Rao, then Minister KT Rama Rao and BRS MPs, had met the Prime Minister and Union Civil Aviation Ministers several times.
He termed Revanth Reddy’s claim that the BRS had done nothing for the airport a blatant lie. While acknowledging the Chief Minister’s role, Vinod said it was incorrect to claim sole credit. He also sent official communications between the State and Central governments, along with photographs, videos and news clippings documenting their efforts.
