Hyderabad: The three time champions Chennai Super Kings’ hopes of a play-offs berth is all but over with their 10-wicket loss against Mumbai Indians on Friday. With this loss, they have so far lost eight of the matches, first in IPL history, and set for an early exit.

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag criticised Chennai Super Kings. Speaking on his show ‘Viru ki Baithak’, he said, “This (MI vs CSK) is probably IPL’s biggest rivalry and already in this season, Chennai has beaten Mumbai. But since then, Chennai has looked like a winning team less and Senior Citizens’ Club more,” he said.

Meanwhile, Scott Styris also said that the Dhoni-led team has no chance of making it to play-offs. “Short answer and it hurts me to say this, I don’t think CSK will make it to the playoffs. I think they are the one side who are out of this tournament right now. I think they did well to get as far as they did last year. But there are so many match-winners in that CSK side who are a little bit older or not quite finding form,” he added.
