Visakhapatnam: While there was all-round appreciation for the proposal of three capitals to develop all three regions in the state, only the Telugu Desam Party President N. Chandrababu Naidu and his `paidartistes’ opposed the move, Minister for Municipal Administration Botsa Satyanarayana has observed.

Talking to media persons here on Sunday, he said there was little response for Chandrababu’s call to organise rallies and dharnas to mark the 300 days of Amaravati movement.

“Chandrababu is singing the Amaravati tune only to protect his benami properties. He has spent Rs.5,000 crore to show pictures of the capital through graphics,” he stated, adding that Visakhapatnam would soon become the executive capital.

The government knew people’s pulse and people knew what they wanted, he remarked. On the Visakhapatnam land scam, he said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe would be completed shortly and the government was ready to investigate any irregularity.

Regarding the MANSAS controversy, the minister said it was a `family problem’. However, the government would not hesitate to intervene if necessary.

The detailed project report (DPR) of Visakhapatnam Metro Project was getting ready and metro office would also be opened shortly, the minister revealed.
