Hyderabad: A high-level review meeting was held on Tuesday evening at the ACA–VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam to discuss the arrangements being made for the India–South Africa men’s one-day international match to be played on December 6.

The meeting, chaired by District Collector M N Harendra Prasad, focused on key aspects such as security, traffic regulation, stadium maintenance, drinking water facilities and sanitation.

During the discussion, City Police Commissioner Dr Shankha Brata Bagchi instructed officials to ensure robust security arrangements so that spectators face no inconvenience. He emphasized planning crowd management at entry points and announced that CCTV cameras would be installed in parking areas. In addition, an upgraded centralized public-address system will be set up for better communication, and special police officers have been assigned to provide security to the cricket teams.

GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg stated that preparations are being made in coordination with the ACA to conduct the match with Zero Waste Management principles. Sanitation staff will be deployed to prevent cleanliness issues, and GVMC will ensure adequate drinking water supply inside the stadium.

Collector Harendra Prasad directed officials to work in close coordination to avoid any shortcomings in the conduct of this international match. Considering the importance of Visakhapatnam city, he also advised speeding up beautification works along the routes used by the teams and other key areas.

The meeting was attended by Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) Councilor Vishnu Donthu, ACA Stadium Chairman Prashanth, Visakhapatnam DCP-1 C H Manikantha, DCP D Mary Prashanti, officials from Law and Order, Traffic Police, Fire Department, APEPDCL and ACA staff members.
