Hyderabad: Actor–producer Vishnu Manchu, who recently drew attention with his performance in Kannappa, is now channeling his focus toward a new venture. Backed by both personal capital and equity, the actor has announced a Rs100 crore investment into what he calls “Microdramas.”
Unlike short reels, these are high-quality cinematic episodes of three to seven minutes, made for mobile-first audience. Each episode is planned with professional direction, strong writing, and full-scale production, ensuring compact yet powerful storytelling.
The move comes at a time when viewing habits are increasingly shifting to quick, on-the-go content. With Kannappa establishing his credibility as both performer and producer, industry circles say this investment positions Vishnu as a forward-looking entrepreneur in Indian entertainment.
An industry insider noted, “He has gone from being recognised for one of the most talked-about performances of the year to placing a big bet on how stories will be consumed in the future.”
Reports suggest Vishnu is also preparing to announce new projects alongside this venture, keeping both fans and the industry curious about his next steps.
