Telugu actor-filmmaker Vishwak Sen oozes with energy, his signature swag and his command over the craft, while the confidence in his speech would sum up everything about him. With movies like ‘Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi’, and ‘Falaknuma Das’, followed by the crime drama ‘Hit’, actor Vishwak has carved a special place in the Telugu film industry.
His statement during the pre-release of his movie ‘Paagal’ made quite a stir among the filmgoers. He said he would change his name if the movie fails at the box office.
His long-pending wish to bring the project on the sets has been fulfilled with ‘Paagal’ hitting the screens on Friday. “I don’t have to change my name; the audiences who watched the preview show have enjoyed it. The result will be positive,” laughs Vishwak.
Vishwak plays a crazy youngster who would fall for every girl he looks at. The mother sentiment, he thinks, is one of the formulas that work well on Telugu silver screen. “I am sure the sentiment in the movie would grab the eyeballs. I am confident that the movie will get the required love from audiences. There is love and sentiment that revolve around the whole script. My speech on that day went viral because I wanted to invite audiences to give their verdict. My words should be taken in a positive way,” he says.
The actor says he is nervous, yet excited, for his film to be released in theatres. “‘Paagal’ should bring back the lost charm of the big screen, and I am hopeful that it will. As an actor, I’ve neither a godfather nor a celebrity family. All my previous films won accolades because of hard work and the passion I have for cinema,” he said, appealing to film critics not to attack him with distasteful words post the release of his movie.
