Siddipet: In a first of its kind move, Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao has decided to serve free lunch to all those visiting his camp office for redress of grievances. Not only people from Siddipet Assembly Constituency, but from people other parts of the district Harish Rao’s camp office to get their issues resolved. Since most of these visitors are poor, the Minister has decided to serve lunch to such people every day.
After distributing Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques at his office on Monday, the Minister launched the service on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said he learnt about many people returning home with an empty stomach after visiting his office. He said a majority of them could not afford food in hotels. To mark the opening of the facility, Rao has served them meals to women, who turned up at his office on Monday to receive Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, and Chief Minister Relief Fund Cheques (CMRF). He has presented 189 Kalyana Lakshmi cheques worth 1.90 crore and 101 CMRF cheques worth 40.42 lakhs.
