VIT-AP inks pact with Intel

Hyderabad: VIT-AP University, Andhra Pradesh, has virtually signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Intel India for setting up a Centre of Excellence in Internet of Things (IoT) at VIT-AP University.

The MoU was recently signed by Dr SV Kota Reddy, vice chancellor, VIT-AP University and Jitendra Chaddah, country manager, supply chain, Intel India.


Speaking on the occasion, Dr Reddy said the purpose of the MoU was to set up a Centre of Excellence in IoT which would enhance technical skills of the students and to bridge the gap between industry and academics.

Intel India, programming head, Girish said the IoT was an advanced technology that creates a global network of machines and devices enabling them to communicate and exchange data with each other through the internet.

The Centre provides an opportunity to faculty, students and scholars to carry out research and to develop new methods and algorithms for specific IoT-related problems and also to solve societal issues.

The VIT-AP University and Boston IT Solutions India Private Limited, Bengaluru, have also signed a MoU for building real time applications besides to carry out joint research and consultancy works on latest technologies in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. The MoU was signed by Dr Reddy and Laxmi Nageswari, Global Head of AI Education and Solutions.

Laxmi Nageswari said the MoU also provides an opportunity for students to gain experience by working in an engineering environment.

Dr CLV Sivakumar, registrar, VIT-AP University, Dr Hari Seetha, director AI & Robotics, Dr SV Sudha, dean, School of Computer Science and Engineering, Sumeet, director, Intel India, Pradeep, G, Intel India, Venkat, Boston IT Solutions, faculty and students were also present on the occasion.
