Hyderabad: School of Advanced Sciences, VIT-AP University, Andhra Pradesh, organised a national workshop on data science and advanced computing virtually. The five-day workshop was inaugurated virtually by AP Education Minister Audimulapu Suresh.
Speaking at the inaugural event, VIT Founder – Chancellor Dr G Viswanathan said adopting new technologies and analytical approach was must in data driven world for 21st century jobs. The workshop would not only encourage the participants towards new research directions but also provide a wide opportunity for them to interact with experts from different parts of the world, he said.
Latent View Analytics, CEO, Rajan Sethuraman said study in data science and advanced computing would offer great careers in the areas of business analytics, data engineering, HR analytics, social media analytics, marketing analytics, risk and compliance analytics, supply chain analytics.
A total of 2,493 students from 26 states and seven foreign countries took part in the inaugural event. Dr Sekar Viswanathan, vice-president, VIT, Dr Sandhya Pentareddy, executive director, VIT, Dr CLV Sivakumar, registrar, VIT-AP University, Dr Santanu Mandal, Dean, School of Advanced Sciences, faculty, and staff also took part in the workshop.
