Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar appealed to the voters in Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) to vote for TRS candidates for comprehensive development of the city.

He said the TRS government was paying attention to both welfare of the people and development of Khammam. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has made a budgetary provision of Rs 150 crore towards the city development.

The city has already witnessed amazing transformation in the past few years. The funds allotted in the budget would be spent on developing drains and roads, parks and central street lighting in the days to come, Ajay Kumar told the public.

The Minister along with the party candidates carried out road shows in 4, 5, 6, 7, 39, 40 and 42 municipal divisions on Tuesday. He revealed that every month around 27, 000 persons were being given Asara pensions in Khammam city for which six to seven crores were spent.

Likewise, so far 5000 families in KMC limits have been given Rs 50 crore financial assistance under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak schemes. As many 45, 000 new tap connections were provided under Mission Bhagiratha scheme, Ajay Kumar explained.

Saying that the Chief Minister was aspiring for the TRS to sweep the KMC elections the Minister urged the voters in the city to give a massive victory to the party and give him a strong team of corporators to develop the city further.

The TRS party always focused on the progress of poor and downtrodden sections as part of such commitment BC candidates were fielded in many general seats. The party workers and leaders should make committed efforts for the TRS victory in the next 10 days, Ajay Kumar said.

Hitting at CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka the Minister said the Congress leader was making baseless allegations to gain political mileage. ‘We would answer such allegations with our development works’, he added.

Opposition party workers join the TRS

At a programme at the TRS district office, as many as 680 workers of opposition parties, including 250 members of Nayi Brahmana Sangham, joined the TRS in the presence of Ajay Kumar.

The sangham leaders said they were impressed with the care shown to the community by the TRS government and hence joined the party. The Minister along with SUDA Chairman Bachu Vijay Kumar and the party office in-charge RJC Krishna launched campaign vehicles.
