Wagh Bakri Foundation flags off meal delivery vehicles for Akshaya Patra
The Wagh Bakri Foundation flagged off eight specialised meal delivery vehicles in partnership with The Akshaya Patra Foundation to support school meal distribution. The temperature-controlled vehicles will help ensure safe and timely delivery of nutritious meals to children.

Hyderabad: The Wagh Bakri Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group, on Monday flagged off 8 specialised meal delivery vehicles in partnership with The Akshaya Patra Foundation. The newly deployed vehicles, which were flagged off in the presence of the Foundation’s brand ambassador and noted TV personality, Suma Kanakala and other senior office bearers of the Foundation, have been procured at a cost of Rs 99 lakh.
The vehicles are specially equipped with temperature-controlled systems to maintain food quality and hygiene, enabling efficient transportation of meals to schools in geographically challenging locations.
With this, the total number of food distribution vehicles from Wagh Bakri Foundation to Akshaya Patra has reached 38, involving a total cost of about Rs 5 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, Paras Desai, ED, Wagh Bakri Tea Group, said, “These vehicles will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of nutritious meals to children, particularly in remote areas”
