Hyderabad: Wait for a job notification from the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) to grow longer as the youngest commission in the country has not received requests from the State government for recruitment in any of its departments. In 2024, the Commission has not issued a single job notification for the same reason.
With no indents in hand over a year, the Commission has got its hands full with releasing results of the recruitment exams held in the past. Unlike earlier where the BRS government flooded with numerous indents for recruitment, the TGPSC, according to sources, is set to approach the State government seeking details of the vacancies.
Further, after approval from the Finance department, the indents are placed to the Commission for recruitment. If the government places indents to the Commission by March 31, the TGPSC, according to sources, will process the vacancies in April and issue notifications in May.
However, there is altogether a different picture in the State government. The department-wise vacancies are yet to be ascertained despite over one-year in the government. This is a time-consuming and cumbersome process.
Further, SC sub-categorisation issues that needed to be addressed before issuance of the job notifications. Given these issues, it is unlikely that new job notifications will be issued any time soon, while the unemployed had been promised by the Congress party of filling up two lakh jobs within one year into the government.
