As India celebrates 75th Independence Day, several celebrities took to social media to express their gratitude to the brave souls that fought for the nation.

Now, Raveena Tandon while wishing her fans on Independence Day, shared a short video message for the young generation to sleeve up and not let the struggles of the brave souls go in vain.

“This day for us to see,

My dear dear country

Your birthday – Our freedom

Many a braves were killed, many innocents slaughtered

Sons and daughters of the motherland took bullets on their chests

So that we could, this day, wake up as free independent souls,” Raveena said in the video with an image of a flag beside her.

Continuing the message, the actor asked the ‘sweet children of Hindustan’ to wake up from slumber and act up. As India is one of the countries having high numbers of young and working population between ages 15-59, Raveena Tandon gave a glimpse of a country that India can be if the workforce vowed to make a difference.

“So not let in vain go their sacrifice,

O sweet children of Hindustan

Wake up from your slumber and take a bow

Honour the sacrifice and the identity that has been bestowed to you

From today, make the difference

Make this country that is proud of you and you of it

Let’s take a step forward to protect peace and unity of our great nation
