Wakf Inspector arrested by ACB in Rs. 10,000 bribery case

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau caught a Wakf Inspector in Nalgonda district while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 for submitting a factual report related to a mosque's registration. The accused was arrested and produced before a special court in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau on Saturday caught a Wakf Inspector working in Nalgonda district when he allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 10,000 for doing official work.

The Wakf Inspector, Shaik Mahmood, working in Nalgonda district, had allegedly demanded Rs. 10,000 for submitting a factual report to the CEO of the Telangana Wakf Board regarding the registration of Jamee Masjid Abubakar Siddiqui Rahmatulla Alai, located in Nalgonda district.


On a complaint, the ACB sleuths laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed when he accepted Rs. 10,000 from the complainant in the case.

The tainted amount of Rs. 10,000 was recovered from the possession of the accused officer at his instance. The Inspector, Shaik Mahmood, was arrested and produced before the Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad.
