Visakhapatnam: Despite challenges thrown by difficult circumstances, the Waltair Division of East Coast Railway showed good performance in the last quarter of 2020-21 financial year and could load 4194 million tonne freight by December last to achieve a gross earnings of Rs.5035.75 crore, Divisional Railway Manager of Waltair Division Chetan Kumar Shrivatsava said here on Tuesday.
Addressing the Republic Day celebrations at the railway football grounds, he noted that Waltair stood in the frontline in all the fields like safety, security, infrastructure development, amenities improvement, innovative measures and excelled in all fields.
Waltair Division bagged 11 Shields for best performance by various departments, which were presented by General Manager Vidya Bhushan at 65th Railway Week Awards, he recalled.
