Warangal: The Task Force police raided a PDS stock dump on the outskirts of Uppugal village under the limits of Zaffergadh police station in the wee hours of Friday. They found an illegal storage dump of PDS rice and seized approximately 64 quintals of PDS rice worth Rs 1.66 lakhs. They have arrested one Kadamanchi Uppalaiah of Jangaon for allegedly storing the PDS rice.
“On interrogation, the accused has revealed that he had been purchasing PDS rice from the surrounding villages and was transporting it to Maharastra State at higher prices,” said a press note from Task Force here on Friday. The accused and the seized rice were handed over to Zaffergadh police for further action.
