Warangal: Chaitanya Deemed to be University (CDU), a local educational institution has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the US-based software giant IBM to offer a joint degree programme for the students of BTech (CSE) with specialisation in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science and B Tech (ECE) with specialiSation in IoT (Internet of Things) and Cyber Security.

“On the successful completion of the course with this internationally recognised certification, students of CDU will have better opportunities for global placements,” said CDU Chancellor, Dr Ch V Purushotham Reddy, adding that the CUD was one among the nine universities selected in India by IBM to offer these latest courses. The representatives of the CDU and IBM have exchanged the documents pertaining to the MoU at the hands of Kakatiya University Vice-Chancellor Prof T Ramesh here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof T Ramesh said that Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, IoT and Cyber Security had become popular and they were in great demand now. “Outcome of this collaboration between the industry and the educational institute is the ‘Global Certificate’ which will be awarded to the students of these courses at CDU,” said Prof G Damodar, Vice-Chancellor, CDU, who presided over the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Department of English has launched the maiden issue of ‘Current English Review’, an annual peer-reviewed journal of critical, creative writings and reviews. This first volume of September 2021 covers 18 critical and creative write-ups and reviews, most of them by outside subject experts.

The CDU is planning to bring out faculty-wise research journals, promoting patents and patent publications, according to the Chancellor.
