Warangal Urban: Kamalapur Congress MPTC Mendu Radhika Ramesh has resigned from the primary membership of the party and joined Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) in the presence of Parkal MLA Challa Dharma Reddy at the latter’s camp office at Parkal in the district on Monday.
She was welcomed into the party fold by Dharma Reddy with a pink scarf. Radhika’s joining the ruling party assumes significance in the backdrop of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao dropping Huzurabad MLA Etala Rajender from the State Cabinet following land grabbing allegations against his family. Sources said that though the MPTC was keen on joining the TRS in the past, she desisted from doing so since Etala’s followers were not in favour of the move.
TRS leaders Pingili Pradeep Reddy, Beemudi Nagi Reddy and Ganapathi Reddy were present.
Meanwhile, residents of Gundedu met Dharma Reddy and assured him that they would continue with the TRS. Rajender was working against the party interests, they said. In another development, Eatala Yuva Sena, Huzurabad constituency, president Murahari Kiran announced that he was resigning from the post. Ward members MD Mahaboobi Kuthbullauddin, MD Afsari Begum, Afser Ali, TRSV village president MD Hakeen and others were present at the MLA’s camp office.
