Warangal: Providing immediate relief to the needy during the emergency is a symbol of humanity, said Lions 320F District Governor Mucha Raji Reddy here on Sunday. The Lions Club has handed over Rs 2 lakh worth of essential commodities to the poor and needy at the Sammaiah Nagar slum locality in Hanamkonda.

Presiding over the programme, Raji Reddy said that the Lions Club of International Foundation (LCIF), which distributes funds to Lions organisation, to carry out service programs, were spread across the globe, is doing a wonderful job.


Second Vice District Governor N Venkateshwar Rao said that they had distributed Rs 8 lakhs worth of essential necessities in the combined district through LCIF.

Katanguru Ramgopal Reddy, District Additional Cabinet Secretary briefed about the activities of the LCIF in Warangal. “Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF)’s Disaster Relief fund has been extending a helping hand to the poor and needy, and the people who are affected by natural calamities. The LCIF is also arranging screening camps for testing eyes and performing eye surgeries besides medical camps for diabetic patients and cancer,” Ramgopal Reddy added.

To render a helping hand to those affected by the recent rains, the Lions Clubs International Foundation distributed 25 kg of rice, lentils, green gram, wheat and other food items to the residents of the Sammaiah Nagar area.

Cabinet members Kunduru Venkat Reddy, Putta Harikishan Reddy, D Shankar, Chief Editor Srinivas, PRO Tirunagari Narender, Region Chairpersons Y Mahender Reddy, Ch Jayasree, P Ravinder Rao, Zone Chairpersons and Club Representatives participated in this charity programme.
