Warangal: Much to the delight of the cadets of NCC (Air Wing) in Warangal district, the Group Headquarters of 4 (T) Air Squadron National Cadet Crops (NCC) has revived the flying training after a gap of years at the Mamnoor Airfield here on Wednesday. Deputy Director-General, Directorate of NCC (AP and Telangana States) Air Commodore TS Suresh Krishnan, Group Commander Col HV Dubey, Wing Commander and Commanding Officer Prateek Benerjee and their team have made efforts to revive the training for the use of the air wing cadets.

They have got the ‘Zen Air CH-701 two-seater micro-light aircraft repaired. The flight has landed at Mamnoor airfield in Warangal on Wednesday after being flown in from Hyderabad. As the NCC officials are going to organise a local camp for both the Army and Air wings for 10 days from December 3 here, the Air Wing final year students (C –certificate) would get the opportunity to learn about flying and technical details of the flying first hand.

The cadets will be offered intense ground training an opportunity consisting of subjects like engine, avionics, airframe, checks, procedures, and basic exposure to microlight flying, said an official of the Warangal Group NCC 4(T) Air Squadron. The Airwing was started in the year 1983 as an open company, under the unit 4(T) Air Sqn NCC, Warangal, at the Lal Bahadur College in Warangal, and it consists of 200 cadets, both men and women, from different colleges in the erstwhile district.
