Warangal: Police authorities here sought help of people in enforcing some discipline among road users by clicking photographs of traffic rule violators. People have been asked to shoot photos of rule violators capturing the registration number of the vehicles and send them by whatsapp to the police authorities so that action could be initiated agianst them.
“I appeal to the people be part of our efforts to prevent road accidents. All they have to do is to take pictures of the traffic violators and send them to us,” said Warangal Police Commissioner Dr Tarun Joshi here on Sunday after unveiling banners designed to create awareness among the public to take photos of motorists violating traffic rules.
“If the driver of any vehicle on the roads violates traffic rules, passers by can immediately take a photo and send them to us on WhatsApp numbers 9491089113, 9440795211, 7382629254 so that we can take action against them. And thus we can check the traffic violations,” he added.
He has once again made it clear that they would be enforcing the traffic rules strictly and book the traffic violators besides imposing fines as per the law from November 1, 2021 in Warangal police commissionerate limits.
“Motorists must wear helmets and they should not drive after drinking alcohol. Talking on the cell phone and speed and rash driving will attract huge fines,” he said and urged the parents to ensure that their minor children should not drive vehicles. The CP said that people would not be allowed to run the vehicles with registration number plates.
Traffic ACP Bala Swamy, Hanmakonda and Kazipet Traffic Police Station Inspectors Vijay Kumar and Prabhakar Reddy were present on the occasion.
