Warangal police seize 750 kg ganja worth Rs 3.81 crore, four smugglers held near Khanapur
Warangal Police, in coordination with Khanapur police, seized around 750 kg of ganja valued at Rs. 3.81 crore and arrested four persons in connection with an interstate smuggling racket. The contraband was hidden in a forest area near Chilakamma Nagar following police vehicle inspections.

Hanamkonda: Warangal police commissionerate’ drug control team and Khanapur police seized ganja weighing about 750 kg worth Rs 3.81 crore and arrested four persons involved in smuggling ganja.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Commissioner of Police Sunpreet Singh informed that Khanapur police on Monday received information about transportation of ganja on the outskirts of Chilakamma Nagar forest area of Khanapur mandal.
When police went to inspect the area they spotted four persons, one motorcycle and four plastic bags under suspicious circumstances and apprehended them as they tried to escape on seeing the police party.
During questioning the accused; Andala Pandureddy of Maredumilli mandal of ASR district of AP, Gollari Muniraju and Koppu Kotaiah Kalimela mandal of Odisha and Bhukya Saikumar of Anatagiri mandal of Suryapet district confessed about possession of about 750 kg hidden in the forests.
The accused were transporting the ganja on the directions of absconding accused Ramesh, Majji Krishna, Naini Ramesh of Odisha state. Another accused Prakash of Bidar in Karnataka was also involved in the ganja smuggling. When the arrested persons were transporting the ganja on August 28 found police conducting vehicle inspections and hid the substance in the forest area.
The CP appreciated ACP (Special Branch) Jitender Reddy, drugs control team Inspector Satish, RI Sivakeshavulu, AAO Salman Pasha, RSIs Poorna Chander, Manoj, Nagaraju, ASI Subbirami Reddy, constables Nazir Ahmed, Razan Pasha, Rabbani, Amareshwar, Raj Kumar, Javed, Ramesh, Srujan, Balaji and Ramchander for seizing the ganja and arresting the accused.
