Warangal: Professor B Suresh Lal, Head of the Department of Economics, here on Friday assumed charge as principal University College, Kakatiya University (KU), Warangal. He will remain in the post for one year.
Prof Lal has 25 years of active teaching and research experience, and he is a reputed scholar on Environmental and Development Economics. He is serving as Editor to the International Journal of Environment & Development and Editorial Board Member of 42 International Journals. He has authored 20 books and edited and published 120 articles in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. He completed five research projects, guided 15 Ph D and M Phil scholars, and delivered 311 Talks to college students on various contemporary issues and has 32 years of community and youth service experience.
Earlier, he worked as the coordinator National Service Scheme (NSS), Kakatiya University (KU), Coordinator SDLCE PG study centre, Secretary University Sports Board, and Joint Director Hostels. Prof Lal is a Fellow of International Academy of Social Sciences USA and International Society for Ecological Communication Poland.
He is a jury member of the Global Undergraduate Awards Ireland. He extensively visited 20 countries across the globe on academic assignments. On this occasion faculty members, research scholars and students of the department congratulated him.
