Warangal reels under heavy rain as Telangana placed under orange alert

Hyderabad: Cyclone Montha caused widespread rains across Telangana with several districts recording heavy rainfall on Wednesday. Inclement weather conditions are likely to prevail across the State with the IMD-Hyderabad issuing an orange alert for several districts for Thursday.
According to the data recorded by the Telangana Development Planning Society till 4 pm on Wednesday, Warangal bore the brunt with four locations recording more than 20 cm rainfall. Nekkonda recorded rainfall of 24.63 cm followed by Parvathagiri with 23.48 cm. Heavy rainfall was also reported in other districts including Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Mahabubabad and Karimnagar.
In Hyderabad, rains remained incessant with varying intensity since morning. Till 4 pm, Musheerabad recorded the highest rainfall of 4.05 cm followed by Marredpally with 3.9 cm and Boudhanagar with 3.85 cm.
