Warangal: Task Force police team has arrested two persons on charges of manufacturing counterfeit beedis and fake stickers and seized properties worth Rs 13,32,800 from them on Saturday.
The accused persons were Banda Sadanandam of Abbanikunta and Kethi Mahesh of Shivanagar. They were manufacturing and selling the counterfeit products in the name of different branded companies, according to Additional DCP (crimes) Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath.
“Apart from preparing counterfeit products, these fraudsters are also preparing fake stickers of the different products of different companies to make the people believe that the products are genuine thereby they are violating the Copyright Act too,” he added. Task Force inspector R Santosh, Ch Srinivas ji, Sub-Inspector V Lavan Kumar, and the members of the Task Force have participated in the raids.
