Warangal teen booked under POCSO for sexually assaulting minor boy
A 16-year-old boy has been booked under the POCSO Act in Warangal for allegedly sexually assaulting an eight-year-old neighbour. The incident came to light after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint.

Warangal: A 16-year-old youth was booked under the provisions of POCSO Act for allegedly sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy under the limits of Mattewada police station in Warangal city.
The victim’s mother, who was living with her two sons at her mother’s house in Ramannapet area, said that on June 18, 2026, while she was away at work, her two sons attended school and returned home in the evening.
During the night hours on the same day, the teenager from the neighbourhood took her eight-year-old son, who was playing outside, into his own home forcibly when no one else was home, closed the doors and sexually assaulted him, she said.
The victim’s mother further said she came to know about the incident from a female relative who went looking for her son as he had not returned home after a long time; found him in the house of the accused. The mother reportedly said she observed the accused putting on his dress while her son was adjusting his own clothes.
Later the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. Based on his mother’s complaint, a case was booked against the accused and an investigation was launched into the incident, the police said.
