Warangal: The members of the Warangal winter warriors, a voluntary organisation, have distributed woolen sweaters among the physically challenged people and girl students staying in the hostels to face the cold conditions during this winter. Former chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), erstwhile Warangal district, Mandala Parashuramulu, who was the chief guest at the programme here on Monday, has handed over the sweaters to 35 persons. The total worth of the sweaters is Rs 12,000. (Rs 342 each) Speaking at the programme, Parashuramulu said that every physically challenged girl must get PG or professional degree and utilise the Telangana state government’s welfare schemes.
He also appealed to the people to extend their support and encourage the physically challenged girls. Meanwhile, some girls requested the organisation to provide typewriting machines and laptops.
