Waste picker murdered by friend in Hyderabad’s old city

Hyderabad: A waste picker was murdered by her friend in Chatrinaka in old city on Saturday night.
The woman Laxmi lived along with a man B Ashok, at a house in Sikh Chawni in Chatrinaka for last few years. The woman did not have any relatives and she along with Ashok collected trash on the streets and sold it at scrap shops for livelihood.
On Saturday night, there was some dispute between Ashok and Laxmi, during which the man strangulated the woman to death using a scarf, said Chatrinaka Inspector, Prasad Varma.
On information, the police reached the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem. A case is registered and Ashok was taken into custody.
