Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy faced embarrassing moments at the World Telugu Federation programme here on Sunday after Bala Aditya, an actor who was anchoring the event, failed to recollect the Chief Minister’s name and called him Kiran Kumar instead.

As Revanth Reddy stepped into the hall and occupied his seat, the anchor announced that the Chief Minister of Telangana ‘Sri Kiran Kumar’ had arrived at the venue. However, he tendered apologies immediately and corrected his mistake.

But the incident took a twist on social media, with many recalling Tollywood actor Allu Arjun’s failure to recall the Chief Minister’s name during a ‘Pushpa-2’ promotional programme and the events that unfolded later, with Revanth Reddy targeting him in the Assembly and the entire Congress brass too going all out after the actor following the Sandhya Theatre stampede.

Sharing a video from the World Telugu Federation event on X, BRS leader Manne Krishank said: “Can’t blame people for not seeing a Chief Minister in Revanth. One has to live up to their chair and maintain the dignity to be remembered.”

Many netizens, commenting on videos of the event, were seen wondering what would be the fate of the anchor now, and whether he would also be targetted like Allu Arjun.
